The working principle of the desktop range hood — Air re-circulation
The air inlet of the range hood should be as close as possible to the cooking surface of other appliances (no more than 10cm away). Recommended for use with cooking appliances : induction cooker, electric grill, electric heating cooker. It should not be used for open flame cooking, which might be damage the product and cause fire.
The cooking oil fume will be filtered through 3 filters, then vented from the air outlet of the range hood.

Excellent Machine! Make sure your smoking surface does not greatly exceed 7″ (the hood diameter)
I don’t even trust a wall mounted hood to catch all of the smoke and be cleaned completely. And a wall mounted hood is loud! So this little machine is quiet. I had to make sure it is running. It’s the buyer’s job to make sure the smoking surface does not greatly exceed the hood’s diameter, a limitation for any kind of hood. So, make sure your smoking surface is not more than 7″. That’s the true limitation for this machine. Otherwise, if you diligently follow the cleaning instruction and clean the filters every time you use it, it’s a machine that works great: (1) You see that the filters are greasy (2) There is oil deposit in the cup (I didn’t expect as much oil deposit as it managed to gather). For a 7″ pan or pot, I think it works better than a wall mounted hood probably because you can place it very close to the smoking surface.

Works great for cooking smoke AND chopping onions
We were immediately pleased with how this works with our Ninja Foodie air fryer/grill. Our small home is much more pleasant for it. While dicing a large amount of onions (10#) for a big dinner, I was desperate to ease the misery of my burning eyes, so I gave it a try. Worked so well! No more tears and running nose. Job was finished so much quicker because I didn’t have to take breaks. Next test is horseradish harvest. Even with a full mask, it is always just torture.

Portable exhaust fan
I recently bought a new island range with no exhaust fan. The Ciarra exhaust fan works as well as the old down draft exhaust fan and is equal to the over the oven fans that are on most stoves. If you are expecting complete elimination of smoke and steam, the Ciarra fan does not do that but it does significantly reduce the smoke and odors from frying.The biggest drawback to the fan is the cord. Since my stove is an island, plugging in the Ciarra fan on the counter means the cord drapes across the walk area. Since you don’t have need of an exhaust fan every time you cook, the Ciarra fan is easy to store.Overall, I think this is a good exhaust fan alternative.

Doesnât work.
My kitchen is an open concept design and was hoping this will help reduce the odor from cooking immediately. I will be returning because of some issues using this. First complaint, device has to be very close to the pan for exhaust to work. Second, it does not reduce the odor from cooking. Third, I left it turned on and even after cooking, it does nothing to diminish the smell. I was really hoping for this to work, sadly it does nothing meet expectations.

Item is excatly what i needed bigger then i thought but still small enough to store away when not in use. Powerful suction was suprised you can see the steam getting sucked in , 2 settings low and high ,removes the smell , is quiet enough that is not disturping when it runs , i love and perfect for my small space .

This product is amazing, seen it after the $54 CAD one. went with my gut feeling and bought this Ciara $300 CAD one. Works as descried and beyond my expectations!! Read the instruction and make sure the back part of the the exhaust fan is not obstructed and HAS FREE AIRFLOW!!!! Cheers

Per una sistemazione temporanea del piano cottura a induzione, necessitavo di una soluzione efficace e non ingombrante. Questa cappa è esattamente ciò che cercavo: compatta, costruita benissimo, efficiente. Aspira perfettamente il vapore acqueo e si vede dal piccolo recipiente di raccolta integrato ed estraibile. Non è particolarmente rumorosa neppure alla massima potenza, mentre alla potenza di base si percepisce solo un leggero soffio. La consiglio a chi ha le medesime esigenze, perché è vero che non costa poco, ma è una vera cappa aspirante.

Un petit bijou pour une hotte portable.Je vais répondre à quelques interrogations ?Oui elle se branche sur une prise mais le fil est très long.Oui elle fait un peu de bruit mais comme une hotte encastrée et il y a 2 intensités.Oui c’est compliqué de trouver des filtres de rechange.Oui elle est très esthétique.Oui elle fait son boulot , la fumée ou la vapeur vont direct vers la hotte.Après il y a moins d’odeur de cuisine mais encore une fois la bonne cuisine maison il y a toujours une odeur même avec une grosse hotte.Une très belle invention.Je recommande très satisfaite.

Ideal for modern kitchens – I use it beside my hob and then pick it up and move it next to my air fryer or multi cooker (I stand it on a small box to make sure it is the correct height above the air fryer). It works perfectly and you can see the steam being pulled in. Quieter than my old, massive, cooker hood and the best part is when finished I just unplug and pop into the cupboard next to the cooker. Very happy with it. It comes with a spare filter grill but I bought a spare full filter kit when I purchased it, haven’t needed either yet but like too be prepared. Great little extractor and an excellent price.
