Perfect for small space
Bought for a chick brooder. It worked great. Came with 2 bulbs so there are 4 temperatures you can set. Easy to hang with the calling provided. Recommend.

Good for tender plants, too.
Okay, I did not use it for chicks! I used it for a few gingers and pineapple plants that I wanted to overwinter without taking up too much room in my dining room (Pineapple leaves have sharp tips!). This little heater kept the temperature 10-15 degrees F higher than the overnight temps in our little greenhouse. It hung from the metal standards of the greenhouse and we set up a temperature sensor to monitor the situation. It worked very well, but we had to check mid morning for overheating the greenhouse with sun shining through it. It was easy to turn off. We did check plant water requirements so they did not dry out too much. I think it would be first-rate for chickens and other fowl as well. The clip in lights are a little finicky to insert, but work very well once installed.We’ve used bottles of very warm water to moderate the temperatures of the greenhouse in the past. This little heater was a welcome aid.

The metal heats up really hot
I haven’t used this, as I had bought it for heating chicks. I usually use the regular dome heater with bulbs, but decided to try this, as it was smaller. But I was afraid to use it, as after about 5 minutes the metal was too hot to touch. I never used an infra red heater before, so I don’t know if this is normal. But I am worried about fire, and the last thing I want is a bulb that heats the metal up that hot.

Put 2 of these in the coop before the zero temps hit and so glad I did. Hung one over the waterer and it has kept the girls water from freezing at zero degrees. Purchased a third one after setting up these 2 .Well built and has to be safer than the clamp on type. I ordered spare bulbs also for the just in case thing.Nothing but good things to say about this product. Highly Recommend !

The lamp is wonderful. They come with 2 lights and one only needs one at a time. However, i ordered them twice because the lights do not work from the get go. Customer service is great, but itâs hard to receive this product with 2 intact lights. I had to send the second order back too.i do have 2 that work and they work wonderfully.
