This thing is so flipping cool
OK so weâve never used one of these before and I installed it on my parents front porch over the outdoor seating that they have this thing is freaking phenomenal. You can literally sit under it when itâs like 30° outside and it literally puts heat over your body up to three people side-by-side.
Off The Grid Ken –
Simple to use and easy to install outdoor electric heater
As the temperature has begun to drop in my area I’ve grown quite fond of this outdoor electric heater. These days it’s not abnormal for nights to end right around 20 to 15°, but I still like to do a bit of stargazing while drinking some tea and eating some biscoffs out on the deck. That is where this heater shines. It doesn’t heat the space up enough for me to be out there shirtless but I can go out with pretty standard clothes on and enjoy a portion of the night without risking frostbite Lol.The heater itself is well made and easy to use with the remote and it doesn’t take much power with 1500 watts being the max. More than enough for my battery bank to handle.Overall this is a great choice for the cooler seasons.Until We Meet Again-Off the Grid Ken

Not as powerful as advertised
I only feel the heat if itâs on full blast.

High quality
High quality heater. Easy to install and love the waterproof remote. Heat output is good altough you must be close to it to feel it’s strength. Good for smaller outdoor areas.

Good …with conditions..
This is a 1500 watt outdoor rated infrared heater. The idea is that the infrared radiation this emits will heat you without wasting time heating the air. This kind of heater became popular for outside spaces during the pandemic but the way it heats is exactly the same as propane stand type heaters which have been around forever. It works nicely but needs to be attached to a structure with the enclosed hardware. And the device needs to be plugged in. This means that if you mount it on the wall, an outlet needs to be quite close (3 feet if you use the attached cord) OR, you need to run an extension cord.Although it is designed to be weatherproof, my experience is that you need to buy a cover (from Amazon) to protect it when not in use else it becomes filthy, collects bugs and will ‘burn off’ whatever dirt it collects when you turn it on which doesn’t smell great and could present a fire hazard. Having a cover makes this a much better product and it will last much longer.More to the point, the heat from this is not particularly robust at any real distance. If you stand within 5 or 6 feet of it, it does cast a nice glow if the outdoor temp is not brutal and it is not windy. But the area it heats is very limited both by distance from the unit and square footage. What I am saying is that the heat dissipates really quickly and if you imagine you are going to heat a sizeable patio or even an entire patio table seating area, it won’t unless you are in Florida and the 65 degree night time temp is just a bit chilly for your sensitive skin.It is useful if you are outside under a gazebo and you want to heat a bar area or if you are thinking about buying several of these and creating a heated zone.It does not come with a stand. There is a good remote so you can mount this in a place that you cannot physically reach easily if desired.

Works
I got the wall-mounted heater you recommended. It was a breeze to install and feels pretty solid. The best part is the remote control, so you can easily adjust the temperature. It does put out a decent amount of heat, but itâs not exactly magical. Youâll need to be pretty close to it to feel the full effect. It does have a bit of an industrial look, but itâs meant for outdoor use, so itâs not too bad when the weatherâs chilly.
